THE BIG FINISH WRAP YOUR HEAD AROUND THE MARKET'S LEADING INDICATORS 96 BEING GREEN IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK An April 2018 membership survey by the National Association of Realtors found that 71 percent of those surveyed felt that the promotion of energy efficiency in their listings was either somewhat or very valuable. Realtor.com examined current listings in the top 200 U.S. metros to determine if greener homes typically necessitate a higher price, and whether these features corresponded with higher home prices. The results indicated that buyers in the metro of Fort Collins, Colorado have the highest likelihood of finding a home with integrated "green" features, with 36 percent of its April 2018 listings listing at least one sustainable living feature. The following data shows the ranking of the the top 10 U.S. Metros with the highest percentage of active listings featuring at least one of seven "green" amenities in April 2018. The amenities considered are solar panels, bamboo flooring, smart thermostats, ENERGY STAR-rated homes, Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio ventilation, dual pane windows, and ENERGY STAR appliances.
