THE BIG FINISH WRAP YOUR HEAD AROUND THE MARKET'S LEADING INDICATORS 96 Texas City Tops U.S. Migration Destinations Where are people moving to in 2018? Not even the aftermath of a hurricane can keep people away from the Bayou City, because Houston once again topped the list of U.S. migration destinations, according to the U-Haul Migration Trends Report. This marks the ninth consecutive year Houston has taken the top slot. Chicago, Illinois, came in as the second-most-popular migration destination. The Windy City also maintained its same position on the list from the previous year, thanks to an 11 percent YOY increase in one-way U-Haul truck arrivals in 2017. Data is calculated by the net gain of one-way U-Haul truck rentals entering a state versus leaving a state during a calendar year. More than 1.7 million one-way U-Haul truck rental transactions occur annually, resulting in the following migration trends data. Growth Rank for States in 2017 1. TEXAS 2. FLORIDA 3. ARKANSAS 4.
