FNC Teams Up with Brazilian Securities Clearinghouse Cetip, a large private asset clearinghouse based in Brazil, will partner with technology provider FNC, Inc. Through the partnership, Oxford-Mississippi-based FNC. will apply its technology solutions to the Brazilian mortgage industry. "We at Cetip are excited to be partnered with FNC, the technology leader in the residential lending arena," said Roberto Dagnoni, Cetip executive director. "Brazil will greatly benefit from FNC's solutions that have proven so valuable to U.S. lenders." FNC's products will function as a means to provide Brazilian banks with a system to manage the collateral valuation process, help reduce costs, speed up the lending process, and access loan level data. FNC's technology solutions will become "an essential infrastructure player for the emerging Brazilian secondary market, by providing information and tools to investors," the announcement stated. "The partnership with Cetip places FNC at the very core of the sixth largest economy in the world, and we look forward to even more growth and success," said Gov. Phil Bryant. "We're proud that FNC, recognized as one of the world's top 100 financial technology companies, is a Mississippi-born, Mississippi-based company." Cetip offers services related to registration, central registration depository, trading, and settlement of assets and securities. The company describes itself as Latin America's largest depositary of fixed income securities. FNC has been offering solutions since the mid-1990s to automate appraisal ordering, tracking, documentation, and review for lender compliance with government regulations. NeighborWorks America Gives $100K in Grants NeighborWorks America provided more than $100,000 in grants to help bring stabilization back to communities affected by Hurricane Isaac. The grants went to areas in Mississippi and Louisiana. NeighborWorks America supports a network of more than 235 nonprofits, located in every state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. "Particularly when severe weather strikes and destabilizes people's lives, NeighborWorks America is committed to building and maintaining strong communities," said Eileen Fitzgerald, CEO of NeighborWorks America. Four partners received grants. The United Houma Nation, a Louisiana state-recognized Native American tribe, received $35,000. An estimated 3,300 tribal citizens were directly impacted by Hurricane Isaac in Houma, according to the release. Hope Community Development Agency in Biloxi, Mississippi received $20,000. The agency is a NeighborWorks organization and is focused on assisting the growing elderly population in Biloxi with emergency home repairs. Hancock Housing Resource Center in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, was granted $30,000. The grant will increase the center's ability to provide home repair and minor rehab for residents in hard hit areas of Bay St. Louis and Waveland in Mississippi. Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans, Inc. was given $25,000. According to the release, there was massive flooding on the north shore, including in the city of Covington, in Louisiana. 111
