All other data courtesy of Lender Processing Services. 114 Missouri Bank Closing Raises 2012 Tally to 51 Sunset Beach, Missouri, was the site of last year's 51st bank collapse as the Missouri Division of Finance shut down Community Bank of the Ozarks. According to a release from the FDIC, Community Bank of the Ozarks had approximately $42.8 million in total assets and about $41.9 million in deposits as of September 30, 2012. The Bank of Sullivan (Sullivan, Missouri) will be picking up all of the deposits and will purchase essentially all of the assets. In addition, the FDIC and Bank of Sullivan have entered into a loss-share transaction on $37.3 million of the failed banks' assets. Bank of Sullivan will share in the losses on the asset pools covered under the agreement. The estimated cost to the Deposit Insurance Fund will be $10.4 million. In addition to being 2012's 51st institution to fail, Community Bank of the Ozarks was the fourth to fail in Missouri. Veterans United Home Loans Ranked No. 1 Job Creator in Missouri All across the country, branches of the Missouri-headquartered Veterans United Home Loans are celebrating the company's recognition in Inc. magazine's inaugural Hire Power Awards for private job creators. Veterans United was ranked as the No. 29 job creator in the United States, having generated 564 jobs from 2008 to 2011. In addition to making the top 100 list, the company also ranked in the top 10 of two other lists: No. 1 for job creation in Missouri and No. 1 for job creation among financial services companies. The recognition does not include Veterans United's 2012 hiring numbers—an estimated 450. "It's no secret, we see our employees as ultimately responsible for our successes and for making us better each day—that's how so many positions were created," said CEO Nate Long. "I think this award really recognizes our commitment to serve veterans, active military, and each other. The quality of each of our employees and their dedication has allowed us to grow and continue to write this story, and we want everyone who works with us to experience this."
