MICHAEL FEDER is president and CEO of Radar Logic Inc., a data analytic company that enables the creation of financial derivatives on otherwise non-tradable asset classes. The company's initial products are based on real estate values and have enabled the creation of futures on real estate, which are now available on the CBOE Futures Exchange. Feder has spent more than 30 years in the financial services industry. He's held senior-level management positions at the Chase Manhattan Bank, the First Boston Corporation, and Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to joining Radar Logic in 2005, he served as CEO of the Feder Group, a private investment banking advisory firm. 4 CHUCK GREEN is an Atlantabased freelance writer. He has more than 30 years' experience as a researcher, editor, and journalist. He reports on various aspects of business, finance, real estate, sustainability, and healthcare, offering expertise for B2B trades, consumer dailies and monthly journals, and intra- and inter-company communications. His work has appeared in a number of publications, including the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, WallStreetJournal. com, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Crain's Detroit Business, Crain's Chicago Business, Real Estate Executive Magazine, California Real Estate Association Magazine, AirTran Magazine, and Utah CEO Magazine. DR. STAN HUMPHRIES is the chief economist at Zillow Inc. He joined the company in 2005 and helped create the algorithms for the Zestimate home value and the Zillow Home Value Index. Prior to joining Zillow, he managed the advanced analytics team at Expedia for five years. Before that, he served as a researcher and faculty member at the University of Virginia. He was previously a Presidential Management Fellow which entailed service at NASA, the Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the President, and the Technology Administration within the Department of Commerce. He holds a Ph.D. in government from the University of Virginia. SANDRA LANE has extensive experience covering the default servicing industry. She contributed regularly to DS News' predecessor, REO Magazine, from 2004 to 2006, covering local market trends, the effects of macroeconomic shifts on market conditions, and "big-picture" analyses of industry-driving indicators. But her understanding of the mortgage and real estate business extends even beyond those pre-crisis days. She is a former real estate broker and grew up in what she calls "a real estate family." A journalism graduate of the University of North Texas, she has written articles for various newspapers and trade journals in addition to writing company communications for several major corporations.
