The number of properties to receive a foreclosure filing increased 4% in August month-over-month, up to
53,007 U.S. properties, but fell 24% from a year ago, according to analysis from ATTOM Data Solutions.
The analysis noted that, nationally, one in every 2,554 U.S. properties received a foreclosure filing during the
month of August.
