DIANA TORRES-BRITO Prober & Raphael, ALC, Senior Attorney Diana Torres-Brito said her 26-year career has been filled with many highlights, but one moment she is especially proud of is taking on the challenge of becoming a member of the Arizona state bar in order to expand bankruptcy and creditor rights in-house operations into Arizona while with Countrywide Home Loans Inc. "At that time, the growth and expansion of the bankruptcy in-house operation into other states was a top priority, and I successfully became a member of the Arizona State Bar in order to be part of that expansion," she said. Torres-Brito said there were constant struggles trying to achieve the "perfect" work- life balance while raising three children during her years of practice, especially during her early years in the industry. However, she said a lot has changed over the past 15 years, and attitudes and perceptions toward female attorneys and their roles in the workplace have opened opportunities. Despite those early struggles, she said she enjoys being in a position to solve problems for clients, calling it one of the "most motivating aspects" of the job. "Doing something that is both intellectually rewarding and mentally stimulating while simultaneously producing a favorable outcome for a client is of utmost satisfaction," she said. Torres-Brito said as the industry moves into 2020, the biggest challenges facing mortgage professionals will be to keep abreast of all legal and regulatory changes, efficient transmission of these to clients, and providing guidance to clients on changes to policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance.
