HP+ HP is now offering HP+, which combines hardware and the company's Smart App to upgrade the printing environment. is endeavor is launching with the new HP LaserJet M200 Series and HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 and 9000 series, and users can sign up for an Instant Ink subscription service for these models. e Smart App has been upgraded with a cloud-based function that automatically detects and fixes connectivity issues, sets the monitoring system to detect and repel malware attacks, and features that enable printing from any device or only when the user is at a specific printer. HP+ also includes a new Forest First feature, where every page printed is balanced off with investments in nonprofits that protect and restore forests. xpression camera EmbodyMe Inc. has announced the creation of xpression camera, a virtual app that enables digital platform users to jazz up their on-camera presentation. According to the company, the new app imprints the head and facial movements of the user on photos or videos in real-time animation settings. Users can even put themselves into virtual professional attire when they are on camera in pajamas or t-shirts and shorts. e app works on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Twitch and Google Meet. A Windows version is scheduled for an early 2021 release, and a Mac version will be distributed to users registered on the app site waiting list. I Hate Receipts I Hate Receipts has debuted an app designed to eliminate the need to collect and catalogue long strips of paper receipts. According to the Austin-based company, photographs of receipts can be uploaded to a secure cloud-based vault that can be accessed for either full viewing or line-item review. I Hate Receipts is also offering merchants and vendor the ability to "skip the slip" with Contactless HD Receipts, with payment records sent directly to a user's account. Now available as a free download for iOS and Android users, the company is planning a paid version that does not carry advertisements. Germ-Cast As more companies return to working in office, ensure your staff is informed and safe. e germ-killing Lysol is now offering Germ-Cast, a free app and web plug-in that provides daily data on COVID-19 and flu incidence levels at the county level. e app also offers a three-week flu forecast. According to the company, the app analyzes data from the public health company Kinsa for its information reports. e app also offers guidance on how to help stop the spread of illness-causing germs—and, in a nod to the app's provider, offers access to relevant Lysol product information. e app is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
