2 Two Decades of Perspective is month, DS News had a chance to chat with Sean Ryan, CEO of Aspen Grove Solutions, on the lessons learned from his two-and-a-half decades in the industry, and how tech has evolved within the mortgage servicing space. Originally established in 1997 in Boston, Aspen Grove has grown into an international business with operations in the U.S. and Europe. In 2008, Aspen Grove opened its office in Frederick, Maryland, where it is now based, and following a shareholder buyout, Ryan was named CEO. Currently, more than 20,000 vendors are being managed on the Aspen Grove Platform. Flip over to our Aspen Grove profile to learn what lessons Ryan and his team have learned after 25 years spent aiding the mortgage servicing sector. Next up, Jimmy Lewis, CEO and Co-Founder of TrueFocus Automation, and Sridhar Loganathan, COO and Co-Founder of TrueFocus Automation, continue a focus on servicing tech with their piece, "Seizing the Moment." Optimizing profits over the past few years was an endeavor led by digital enhancements, as the industry continues to embrace these advancements. As the industry diversity and inclusion efforts grow stronger by the day, this month's issue features the insights of Dr. Paul Miceli, Senior Talent and Culture Manager at Enact, discussing today's diverse and expansive talent pool. In "Meeting Candidates Where ey Are," Dr. Miceli explains how through partnerships, education, and proactive outreach, anyone can make a difference—both for their own company, as well as the mortgage industry overall. With affordability concerns showing no signs of easing up, many will continue to be forced to rent rather than embrace homeownership opportunities. Rachel Richardson, Demand Generation Specialist with Rent., shares the inner workings of the renter mindset in her article this month, "Why Renters Move." Richardson discusses trends that renters are following and how your property can prove its value to renters. A slowdown in the market can result in equity gains slowing for some homeowners, providing less protection from mortgage defaults for those who fall behind. Jim Albertelli and Stacy Mestayer of Voxtur detail how a housing market slowdown could prove to be a boon for the mortgage servicing space in their submission, "Pumping the Brakes."
