According to a statement from the Fed, more than 232,000 GMAC borrowers whose homes were in any stage of foreclosure in 2009 and 2010 will receive payment relief. The deals with the servicers stem from enforcement actions issued by federal regulators over "deficient" servicing and foreclosure processing practices. The addition of GMAC brings the total number of borrowers receiving cash compensation to 4.4 million, and raises the total amount of cash compensation to $3.8 billion, the Fed stated. According to the latest update, more than 3.9 million checks valued at more than $3.4 billion have been sent to eligible borrowers, and about 2.9 million of those checks have been cashed or deposited as of July 11. The Fed advised borrowers to call Rust Consulting, the paying agent, at 1-888-9529105 to have their questions answered or to update contact information if they expect to receive a check. ELK Software Unveils New Version of Realty Commander ELK Software, a provider of real estate software based in Michigan, released the latest version of Realty Commander, a tool to help Realtors and brokers manage real estate transactions. By using Realty Commander, agents have access to an online portal to upload and store documents, track files, follow up and distribute leads, and schedule showings. Agents can also give their clients a free login to their file so clients can view status updates, add comments, and upload documents. All parties involved can view updates on the related file through a computer, tablet, or cell phone. The software also offers agent support for traditional sales and short sales. "Our new version of Realty Commander allows users to manage their entire buyer and seller business from anywhere at any time," said Lee Moraitis, managing director for Realty Commander. "We see that the real estate business is constantly changing and our existing clients are becoming more diversified. Listing agents handle both short sales and traditional listings and their buyer business is growing too. They needed a platform to manage everything and this will accommodate all their needs."
