TRELLO – For those of you who work better
with task lists, this is the tool for you. Stay
organized by creating a board, adding
tasks, and collaborating with coworkers.
As a company, Trello uses the simple three
boards To Do, Doing, and Done to manage
workflow. Make it color-coded or just set the
flow and keep an eye on everything. And
if you end up with extra time or it doesn't
include information that's too sensitive, there's
the option to share it on social media so the
slackers in your office can feel the burn outside
of work.
HIPCHAT – With the option to divide chat
rooms by department or just message one
person, you can now share as much—or as
little—without cluttering up everyone's inbox
with those dreadful chain emails. Share
photos, updates, announce there's cake in
the break room—or whatever you want—all
without the legal disclaimer that no one reads
at the bottom of the signatures.
SQWIGGLE – While there are so many ways
to connect with coworkers these days, there's
no substitution for face-to-face contact. When
that's not possible—or you just want to make
sure someone is upright during working
hours—this video chat is a cloud-based office
that allows for some human interaction, which
is nice every once in awhile. And if you're
really good at interpreting facial expressions
and reactions, it certainly allows for an
accurate feel that text-based messages often
miss.
