Fannie Mae Extends Closing Assistance for HomePath Properties Fannie Mae announced in late March that it extended the 3.5 percent closing cost assistance for HomePath properties purchased during the First Look period in 27 states. During the FirstLook period, in effect for the first 20 days a property was on the market, an owner-occupant or public entity buyer could submit offers on HomePath properties without competition from investors. Originally, the incentive was set to expire on March 31 but was extended due to strong interest from buyers. "We have received a strong response from the incentive since it went into effect on February 14, and we are happy to extend the offer to even more homebuyers," said Jay Ryan, VP of REO sales. "With the unusually cold and extended winter season ending, we want to give people more opportunity to use the incentive to buy properties that they will call home." Initial offers had to be submitted by the deadline of April 30 to be eligible for the incentive. Sales must close on or before June 30. Informative Research Welcomes Two New Hires Informative Research, announced the appointment of Patrick Kelly to VP of business development and Colleen Knapp to director of business development. Kelly brings to the company 40 years' experience in the mortgage industry. Previously with CoreLogic, Kelly's extensive knowledge of the mortgage industry includes loan origination, custom-designed products for consumers, and property data. His new role with Informative Research will expand that focus by providing services and solutions to the central region of the United States. Knapp joins Informative Research as the new director of business development. She will oversee the business development for the southeast region. Long & Foster Real Estate Welcomes Two New Employees Patti Moore was named manager of Long & Foster Real Estate's Salisbury, Maryland, office. A real estate veteran with more than 10 years' experience, Moore brings to her new position experience in residential real estate sales and business operations gleaned from owning her own brokerage for several years. Moore holds her Associate Broker license in Maryland and Broker's license in Delaware. The company also welcomed industry veteran Dan Devine to its Greenville, Delaware, office. Devine, a professional in the real estate industry for the past 12 years, was a top producer with another local firm before joining Long & Foster. He specializes in working with buyers and sellers in all areas of residential real estate. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware. PEMCO Limited Announces Leadership Award Winner PEMCO Limited announced Marcia Toms as the sixth recipient of the Women in Diversified Services (WinDS) Leadership Award. Toms serves as the 1A project manager for PEMCO Limited and is the president of the WinDS Foundation. Toms has been a member of the WinDS organization since 2010 and is on her second term as the foundation's president. Shapiro and Ingle Law Firm Announces New Attorney Shapiro and Ingle, LLC., recently announced the hiring of Jackson E. Duncan III, to its Alabama office. Duncan will serve as managing attorney. Duncan brings 18 years' experience in mortgage default and litigation to the firm. Duncan earned his B.S. and M.A. in finance from The University of Alabama and his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. Caliber Home Loans Welcomes New Sales Director Caliber Home Loans announced Karen Bausman has joined the company as managing sales director of correspondent lending for the company's eastern region. Bausman is a 30-year veteran of the mortgage and financial services industry, and has held numerous senior management positions throughout her career. RealtyTrac Welcomes New Marketing Executive RealtyTrac announced it hired veteran marketing and communications executive Darcy Patch as VP of marketing and operations. Patch will oversee the daily operations of the network while further enhancing network services for current members. Her primary goal will be to develop new ways for broker members to leverage RealtyTrac's network offerings, databases, and resources. Associa Names New SVP of Information Technology Associa announced the appointment of Tom Larkin as a SVP of information technology and interim CIO. Before joining Associa, Larkin retired from an information technology consulting firm he founded with two colleagues. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked in the information technology field for a variety of organizations. RealtyTrac Launches File Licensing Business, Hires New Executive to Lead RealtyTrac announced it entered the tax, deed, and mortgage data licensing business, hiring industry veteran Brian Mushaney to head its rapidly growing file licensing division. The new data offered complements RealtyTrac's current data offerings. Previously with Lender Processing Services for 11 years as SVP of sales, Mushaney has been in the industry for over 28 years. CONTINUED ON PAGE 34 Fannie Mae paid Treasury $7.2 billion in March as a dividend on the senior preferred stock, marking the first time in which the company's cumulative dividend payments to Treasury will exceed its total draws.
