From 2005 to mid- 2009, Montgomery served as Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and FHA Commissioner. He was responsible for the oversight and modernization of the insurance fund's $600 billion portfolio, HUD's regulatory responsibilities to the housing mission of the GSEs, and the manufactured housing industry. Montgomery came to HUD and FHA from the Executive Office of the President of the United States. ALAN JAFFA is the chief executive officer for Safeguard Properties, a role he assumed in May of 2010. Previously he served as chief operating officer. Under Alan's leadership, Safeguard has doubled in size with strategies that have included new and expanded services, technology investments that deliver higher quality and greater efficiencies to clients, and strategic acquisition. As a result, Safeguard has been recognized in Northeast Ohio by the Weatherhead 100 for 15 years, and in 2010 and 2011 was recognized as the fastest growing large company in Northeast Ohio. JOHN GUTMAN is the VP of Sales and Acquisitions at MACK Companies, and is responsible for the strategic purchase of all residential properties as well as management of the sales staff. John brings with him a passion for real estate investing, a mind for analytics and aptitude for property value assessments. He has sold over $215M in residential assets throughout his career, generating millions in returns for the individual and institutional investors he works with. John Gutman has been named the top producer in Chicago-land every year since 2010 by the Chicago Association of Realtors and Mainstreet Organization.
