24 UWM Promotes Mortgage Tech Vet to Chief Digital Officer United Wholesale Mortgage's Justin Glass is moving up in the company's ranks: The Michigan- based lender promoted the veteran employee to the newly created role of chief digital officer (CDO). Having been with UWM for eight years, Glass most recently served as SVP of business development. In his new role, he'll be responsible for the company's digital innovation. OCC Releases Evaluations of 36 Financial Institutions; Six Rated 'Outstanding' e Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) this week released its list of Community Re- investment Act (CRA) performance evaluations that were made public during the month of October 2014 for 36 financial institutions. e financial institutions that received ratings from the OCC that became public during October were national banks, federal savings associations, and insured federal branches of foreign banks that have received ratings. e four possible ratings were outstanding, satisfacto- ry, needs to improve, and substantial noncompliance, according to the OCC. Six of the institutions evaluated received outstanding ratings: First National Bank Alaska, a large bank in Anchorage; Eastern National Bank, an intermediate small bank in Miami; BankChampaign, National Association, a small bank in Cham- paign, Illinois; North Shore Trust and Savings, a small bank in Wauke- gan, Illinois; Sunrise Banks, National Association, an intermediate small bank in St. Paul, Minnesota; and Texas Heritage National Bank, a small bank in Daingerfield, Texas. Twenty-nine of the institutions evaluated received a satisfactory rating, and one bank–Certusbank, National Association, a large bank in Greenville, South Carolina— received a needs-to-improve rating. None of the 36 banks evaluated received a substantial noncompli- ance rating. A searchable list of all public CRA evaluations can be found on the OCC's website. e CRA was first enacted by Congress in 1977 and revised in both 1995 and 2005. e purpose of the CRA is to "encourage depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate, including low- and moderate- income neighborhoods, consistent with safe and sound operations," ac- cording to the U.S. Federal Reserve Board website. CONTINUED FROM PAGE 26 Solutionstar Names Top Executives Lewisville, Texas-based Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc. has announced the hiring of Kal Raman, a leading technology executive, as CEO of the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Solutionstar. Raman has more than two decades of experience in leadership positions with innovative technology and retail businesses. He served as COO for Groupon, in addition to serving as CEO of the company's Asia Pacific region. He will be charged with advancing Solutionstar's broader effort to offer its comprehensive, end-to-end online real estate technological services. Solutionstar also named Chad Neel as its EVP of servicing solutions. Neel joins Solutionstar from McCarthy and Holthus, LLP, where he was director of corporate strategy. Earlier in his career, he served as senior managing director and division president for more than a decade at Lender Processing Services, where he oversaw several different business units. Potestivo & Associates Welcomes New Supervising Bankruptcy Attorney Michigan-based default servicing legal services provider Potestivo & Associates, P.C., has announced the addition of Jordan Segal as the firm's supervising bankruptcy attorney. Segal is experienced in the areas of bankruptcy, foreclosure, eviction, fair debt collection practices, and real estate litigation. Immediately prior, Segal served as assistant city solicitor in Baltimore, Maryland. Atlanta Attorney Selected As Fellow of American College of Bankruptcy Atlanta-based bankruptcy attorney Jason Watson, partner at Alston & Bird and chair of the firm's Bankruptcy, Workouts & Reorganization Group, was recently chosen as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. Watson has been representing secured lenders in pre- bankruptcy workouts and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases for more than 15 years. Opus CMC Names Chief Compliance Counsel Opus Capital Markets Consultants (Opus CMC), a Wipro subsidiary specializing in mortgage due diligence, announced the appointment of John Levonick as chief compliance counsel. Levonick has a long legal background, having worked in the past for various companies as chief legal officer, chief compliance officer, and regulatory counsel. Default Servicing Technologies Hires New VP of Business Development Default Servicing Technologies (DST), an Illinois-based provider of Web-based automated tools for asset managers and mortgage servicers to manage REO properties, has announced the hiring of Doring Lloyd as the firm's VP of business development. Immediately prior to joining DST, Lloyd served as key accounts manager with New York-based Ernst Publishing Company. Superior Home Services Names New Assistant VP of Insurance Operations Superior Home Services has announced that Ruth Delgado has joined the company as assistant VP of insurance operations. Delgado has held two assistant VP positions with Wells Fargo Bank during her more than 10 years of default servicing experience. Delgado will assist both current and prospective clients, some of which will include mortgage servicers who handle both large and small FHA default portfolios. First American Announces SVP of Enterprise Data Strategy Santa Ana, California's First American Financial Corporation recently announced the appointment of a new SVP for enterprise data strategy, naming Dianna Serio to the position. Serio has more than 25 years of experience in real estate information. In her new role, Serio is responsible for enhancing First American's enterprise data and information management strategy. Jenner & Block Recruits Former Acting General Counsel for HUD Damon Smith, former acting general counsel for HUD, has joined law firm Jenner & Block as a partner in the group's District of Columbia office. Smith worked at HUD from June 2009 to January 2014, serving in that time as the agency's principal deputy general counsel, acting associate general counsel for insured housing, and senior counsel/special assistant to the general counsel.
