Christine LaChance, VP, director of client relations, customer relationship manage- ment, will oversee the new CRM structure to further develop the company-wide, "customer-centric" mindset, the company says. LaChance will lead the implementation and advancements of client transaction visibility and pipeline management, enhance onboard- ing efficiencies to shorten the customer transi- tion timeframe, and reduce response times to increase customer service availability. ese advancements will ensure a more seamless and effective customer experience so RedVi- sion's customers can best serve their respective customers. "We structured the company to see the world through the lens of our customers," said Leanne Zinn-Cox, EVP of sales and market- ing at RedVision. LaChance, who joined RedVision in September 2014, previously held strate- gic leadership positions at First American Insurance Company, Inc. With her extensive background in operations, LaChance can appreciate the urgency and demands of this industry, which enables her to lead the CRM team by example and elevate RedVision's customer-centric practices with faster response times to client inquiries and shorter onboard- ing periods from initiation to order capabil- ity. LaChance brings a unique combination of national settlement service experience, operational excellence, and leadership along with a customer-centric management ap- proach to this role. Prior to leading RedVision's new Customer Relationship Management Team, LaChance served as RedVision's VP, southeast regional director. Before joining RedVision, LaChance held several management positions at First American Insurance, Inc., in Largo, Florida. Her last position there was director of business integration. She started her career at First American Insurance in 2005 as manager of centralized support and, in 2009, became the company's business planning director before assuming her last position in 2011. Judges Grant a Stay to PHH Corp. for Paying CFPB's Penalty A trio of federal judges granted a stay to PHH Corp. regarding the company's $109 mil- lion penalty for allegedly accepting kickbacks from mortgage insurers, a decision that calls into question the very constitutionality of the Con- sumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judges Karen Henderson, Patricia Mil- lett, and Robert Wilkins stayed the August 5 deadline, by which the New Jersey-based mortgage services provider was supposed to pay a fine levied by CFPB director Richard Cordray. In June, Cordray, in agreement with a November 2014 recommended decision by administrative law Judge Cameron Eliot, decided that PHH had accepted kickbacks for illegally referring consumers to mortgage insurers as far back as 1995. Almost immediately, PHH and its lawyers, Los Angeles-based Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, petitioned the District of Columbia U.S. Cir- cuit Court of Appeals to "modify or set aside civil investigative demand" while the company made its case against what it called an abuse of power by the CFPB. e petition also called the bureau's constitutionality into question, saying that the director has sole power to fund his agency without having to answer to the president or Congress. "Never before has so much authority been consolidated in the hands of one individual shielded from the president's control and Congress's power of the purse," the petition stated. is, it claims, puts the CFPB direc- tor's power and tenure at odds with the U.S. Supreme Court's Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board decision from 2010. e federal motions panel issued an order stating that PHH had "satisfied the stringent requirements for a stay pending appeal." PHH spokesman Dico Akseraylian told DS News that the company was gratified by the unani- mous decision based on those requirements, which he said "include a likelihood of success on the merits." Despite the relief for PHH, it has been a rough second quarter. According to the company's Q2 statement, PHH suffered a $62 million net loss last quarter and spent $34 mil- lion on legal and regulatory expenses. Something to note, however, is that the panel's stay order was a mere paragraph and did not specify whether the judges' decision was related to PHH's constitutional argu- ments. Still, the stay issued in the wake of such a strongly argued petition is hard to ignore and it puts the structure of CFPB under scrutiny for the first time. If the constitutionality of the bureau was a factor in the panel's decision, it lines up the case for review by a federal court of appeals.
