WESTCOR LAND TITLE APPOINTS NEW EVP TO LEAD INVESTOR SERVICES Westcor Land Title Insurance Company recently appointed Ryan Peterson as the company's new EVP. In his new role, Peterson will provide senior leadership to Westcor's newest division, Investor Services. In addition, he will guide the launch of a new and innovative division of Westcor which will represent the first of its kind in the title insurance industry. Prior to joining Westcor, Peterson was the co-founder, president, and CEO of Avenue 365 Lender Services, a national title insurance agency. ere, he created a national origination services division which provided traditional title insurance and settlement services to the origination marketplace, as well as a Default Services division which provided products and services to the institutional investor marketplace. Prior to Avenue 365, Peterson was the Co- founder and ultimately CEO of Smartertitle.com, another national title insurance agency which he sold to a top 5 mortgage originator in 2008. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Swarthmore College and is a licensed title insurance producer in 32 states. In that role, he was the Director of the Real Estate Development program. He has also served as an Assistant Professor in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of South Australia. His research was focused on housing supply, urban growth, and economic geography while he held the assistant professor positions. "As an economist and long-time house hunter, I understand what buyers, sellers, and renters actually care about and what they need to know to successfully navigate today's polarized housing market," McLaughlin said. OLD REPUBLIC TITLE HOLDING COMPANY NAMES NEW WESTERN DIVISION PRESIDENT Old Republic National Title Insurance Company (ORNTIC) has announced the promotion of ORNTIC Executive Vice President and Southwest Division Manager Carolyn Monroe to President of Old Republic Title Holding Company (ORTHC) and its subsidiaries. Monroe will lead direct and agency operations in the Western division, including the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. She has 33 years of experience in the title insurance industry. Her experience includes serving U.S. BANK NAMES PRESIDENT OF HOME MORTGAGE DIVISION U.S. Bank announced the appointment of Tom Wind as President of U.S. Bank Home Mortgage this week. Wind succeeds Rick Aneshansel, who announced his retirement earlier this year. Wind assumed his new duties on January 4. Wind has been in the mortgage industry for more than 25 years, serving a number of different lenders. He previously served EverBank Financial Corp. as Executive Vice President of Residential and Consumer Lending. He also held executive positions at Lehman Brothers/Aurora Loan Services, JPMorgan Chase, and Citicorp Mortgage. "Connecting families with the financing and ability to own a home is an important part of our mission as a relationship bank," said Kent Stone, vice chairman and head of U.S. Bank Consumer Banking Sales and Support, when discussing Wind's new position. TRULIA NAMES NEW CHIEF ECONOMIST Trulia, a San Francisco- based online real estate site for homebuyers and renters, has promoted its Housing Economist, Ralph McLaughlin, to fill the Chief Economist position with the company, according to an announcement from Trulia. In the role of Chief Economist with Trulia, McLaughlin will lead housing economics research for the company and provide key insights about economic and housing trends as well as public policy for house hunters, according to the announcement.
