2 Here at DS News we built our brand and our reputation on providing comprehensive coverage of the Default Servicing market (the "DS" in DS News). In fact, the first iteration of our publication was focused exclusively on the REO market and what REO agents and brokers can do to better their business. Our focus has broadened significantly since then and continues to evolve as the needs of the market change. e change that we've seen in the last year is the picture of a housing market that has improved significantly. Let's be real. As long as companies have been issuing loans, borrowers have been defaulting on them. at will never change. But as the economy heals, the industry heals with it. e irony is that the recovery has put many of the companies that arose out of the financial crisis in a position where they must change in order to remain viable. In this month's cover story we take a look at what it takes to be an agile business in a changing market. Speaking of change, perhaps no sector of the industry has been as greatly affected by the decrease in foreclosure volume as those that depend on REO for their livelihood. In his piece "What's Next for REO?" Jim Leath, Vice President of Enterprise Sales at Altisource gives us a glimpse of the new frontier. We want you to make your voice heard as well. Is there something going on in the market that you would like to see covered? Have an idea for a new type of feature? We're all ears, so drop us a line and let us know how we're doing. Send us an email at editor@dsnews.com or follow us on Twitter @DSNewsDaily and join in on the conversation. Derek Templeton Editor, DS News Are We Living in a "Post Default World?"
