96 96 96 HIGHEST AVERAGE GAINS FOR HOME FLIPPING, FULL YEAR 2015 DS News tracks the latest and most relevant industry surveys and data to keep you in the know. In this month's issue, we're taking a look at the metro areas in the United States that had the highest average gains for home fl ipping during the full year of 2015. According to Redfi n, approximately 43,000 homes were fl ipped during 2015, which is about half of the peak total from 2005.The decline is likely due to a lower number of homes for sale overall, particularly at low enough prices to draw the interest of fl ippers. The average nationwide gain was approximately $100,000; six of the top 10 metros with the largest gains were located in California.
