APPRAISAL INSTITUTE ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT e Appraisal Institute, a professional association of real estate appraisers with nearly 20,000 professionals announced the appointment of its new president, Jim Amorin. Amorin is the VP of Atrium Real Estate Services in Austin. He will lead e Appraisal Institute's elected officers and Board of Directors in continuing its strategic plan, which includes enhancing its reputation and thought leadership abroad; advocating against over-regulation of the profession; and helping attract the next generation of valuation professionals. Before being elected president, he has served on the Appraisal Institute's Executive Committee, National Nominating Committee, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, General Appraiser Council Admissions Committee, Qualifying Education Committee and the AI Relief Foundation Board of Directors, in addition to region and chapter roles. Amorin was the 2009 Appraisal Institute President, and also has served as national President-elect, VP, and immediate past President. CLOSINGCORP WELCOMES NEW SVP Gerardo Caceres joins ClosingCorp as the SVP of Data Operations & Product Management, where he will determine the overall strategic direction and tactical execution for all products and will be responsible for further enhancing the company's data and information management strategy. Prior to joining ClosingCorp, Caceres was the SVP of Service Delivery and Account Management at RealEC Technologies/Black Knight Financial Services. Before joining Black Knight, he was the SVP of Title Strategy and National Title Platform (NTP) at Bank of America (BofA), where he was responsible for providing title and closing services to BofA home loan originations through the NTP. He also held other executive positions at BofA. Caceres graduated from Lancaster University with a Master's in Information Management and Bachelor's in Management Information Systems. FIRST GUARANTY MORTGAGE CORPORATION HIRES EXECUTIVE Brian Daily has been hired at First Guaranty Mortgage Corporation (FGMC) as Managing Director for the company's Distributed Retail lending division, where he will be responsible for growing the company's Distributed Retail lending platform. Daily brings more than 30 years of mortgage industry experience to FGMC with previous positions that include Chief Strategy Officer of the Strategic Alliance Group at First Allegiance for more than five years, SVP of Sales with Centex Home Equity/Nationstar Mortgage, SVP Divisional Manager with Fremont Investment and Loan, and SVP of Sales/Operations with Bank of America. Daily has served on various mortgage industry committees and advisory boards and has participated in industry panel discussions for the Five Star Institute. AMCAP MORTGAGE TAPS NEW COO AmCap Mortgage has named Michael Goldman as the company's new COO. Goldman will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of AmCap Mortgage as it grows loan volume and expands to additional areas of the country. With a career that spans 20 years, he started as a loan officer in San Antonio and rose through the ranks to branch management and regional management roles in his home state of Texas. Goldman earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio. BB&T ANNOUNCES NEW PRESIDENT BB&T Corporation announced that Chris Henson has been named President of BB&T Corporation and President of Branch Banking and Trust Company. He will also serve as COO of BB&T Corporation. Henson will oversee many of BB&T's core businesses, including Data and Technology Services; Deposit, Payment and Operations Services; Enterprise Digital Strategy; Enterprise Marketing, Sales and Experience Group; Financial Services; Human Systems; Legal; Insurance Services; Mortgage and BB&T's Specialized Lending subsidiaries. He will also be responsible for overseeing BB&T's Community Banking Division. Henson took on several leadership positions within the Community Banking group, including City Executive in Wilson and Greensboro, North Carolina; Regional President of the Hampton Roads, Virginia and Atlanta regions; and Georgia state president. He was appointed CFO in 2005 and then served as the COO of the corporation since 2009. TOWNEBANK MORTGAGE NAMES NEW PRESIDENT William T. Morrison has joined TowneBank Mortgage as Chairman and CEO of TowneBank Mortgage and Realty Group. He has succeeded Jacqueline Amato, who has retired as Chairman and CEO of TowneBank Mortgage last year. Morrison, the former CEO of Monarch Mortgage, played an integral role in the merger of TowneBank Mortgage and the Monarch Mortgage division. He was previously an EVP and COO of the company. MATIC INSURANCE SERVICES APPOINTS HEAD OF INSURANCE Matic Insurance Services, Inc. announced the appointment of its new Head of Insurance, Jeff Snyder.
