Annual decrease Source: Lender Processing Services IN THE NEWS LPS Settles Criminal Charges in Missouri announced last month that an agreement was reached between its subsidiary, DocX, and Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster, resulting in the dismissal of criminal charges pending against DocX. In February 2012, Koster obtained Lender Processing Services, Inc., (LPS) Montana rank: 43 90+ Day 1.27% 1.44% -11.60% 90+ Day criminal indictments against DocX related to its alleged role in falsely authorizing and notarizing mortgage and foreclosure docu- ments for lenders and servicers. The terms of the settle- ment provide for a voluntary contribution of $1.5 million to the state of Missouri. In addi- tion, the attorney general's office will receive $500,000 in reimbursement for fees and costs associated with its investigation. DocX is released from any potential liability. The new tool is part of the DataQuick Torrent Technologies, whose insurance Flood Risk Analysis Suite and allows insurance companies, lenders, and servicers to identify potential candidates for policy changes prior to the release of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) reconfigured flood insurance rate maps. "Flood is not just an insurance indus- try issue," said John Walsh, president of DataQuick. "A lender or servicer's portfolio is exposed to risk if flood policies are out-of- date or cancelled." Walsh says his company's partnership with Torrent will help resolve delays in issuing policies for collateral protection after the rate map changes are published.
