The trade group's president, Moe Veissi, said Merkley's idea "is exactly the innovative approach that our nation must take to ensure a sustained housing recovery." There are some naysayers, however. One commenter responded to the YouTube video saying the plan is "setting up conditions nearly identical to what created the housing bubble." Radian wrote $3.37 billion in primary new Philadelphia-based Radian Guaranty preferred vendor of some of the nation's top lenders, providing customized solutions for mortgages, from loan fulfillment through loss mitigation. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the company has additional offices in Broomfield and Littleton, Colorado. ServiceLink Buys DRI Pittsburgh-based ServiceLink acquired insurance for the month of July, an increase from $3.08 billion in June. Loan delinquen- cies were down, with primary delinquent inventory falling to 97,012 from 98,450 the month before. The release of July's stats fol- lowed a more dismal report on the company's second-quarter earnings, which showed a net loss of $119.3 million. Still, CEO S.A. Ibrahim says he is confi- dent in Radian's future. "We are encouraged by the continued improvement in our legacy MI portfolio as our number of delinquent loans decline steadily," Ibrahim said. "The improving composition of our overall MI book helps position Radian for future success and a return to profitability." ULS CEO Receives Award, Company Named on Black Enterprise 100 List announced two recognitions it received in June. Ernst & Young selected Chuck Sanders, founder and CEO of ULS, as the 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year for the services industry in the Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia region. Sanders was selected by an independent panel of judges made up of past award winners, CEOs, private capital investors, and other regional business leaders. ULS also took the 31st spot on Black Urban Lending Solutions (ULS) recently KNOW THIS In the 13 counties of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the average price of homes sold in the first six months of 2012 was up 8% from the same period last year, according to West Penn Multi-List, Inc. Enterprise magazine's BE 100 list of the larg- est black-owned businesses. It's the fourth year in a row ULS has made the list. In order to be eligible, a company must be at least 51 percent black-owned and fully operational for the previous calendar year. In addition, the company must manufacture or own the products it sells or provide industrial or consumer services. ULS was founded in 1998 and started as a title and settlement services company. Under Sanders' leadership, ULS has experienced steady company growth and has become a DRI Management Systems in mid-July and announced the launch of the ServiceLink Fusion workflow platform. ServiceLink Fusion was designed based on feedback from the company's servicing clients and central- izes default-related workflow. ServiceLink Fusion utilizes a workflow platform originally developed by DRI. The platform is in production and configured to support loss mitigation, pre-foreclosure, foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims, third-party service ordering, litigation, default adminis- tration, and REO management. ServiceLink says its Fusion platform enables clients to manage operational risk and simplify regulatory compliance while reducing constraints that result from hard- coded point technology solutions, databases, and other interfaces.
