Get to know the experts and insiders behind this issue. contributors ED DELGADO is chief operating officer for Wingspan Portfolio Advisors, a diversified mortgage servicing company that provides a wide range of strategic services to assist the mortgage industry. He also currently serves as chairman of the National Servicing Association (NSA), a nonprofit trade group representing mortgage banks in the United States. He has more than 20 years' experience in mortgage banking and is widely recognized as a thought leader and innovator in the industry. He was formerly CEO of the Five Star Institute, an SVP at Wells Fargo, and an executive with Freddie Mac. RICH GEARY is EVP of National Default Exchange (NDeX), a provider of technology and processing services for law firms nationwide. He is responsible for the management of the company's non-legal foreclosure and eviction operations and oversees all Michigan employees. He leads the default processing department's operations and develops standardized processes to increase efficiencies. Prior to joining NDeX in April 2010, he spent 35 years in the mortgage servicing industry. He held the position of servicing manager for ABN AMRO Mortgage Group and its predecessors, and was the servicing manager for Flagstar Bank. CHUCK GREEN is an Atlanta-based freelance writer. He has more than 30 years' experience as a researcher, editor, and journalist. He reports on various aspects of business, finance, real estate, sustainability, and healthcare, offering expertise for B2B trades, consumer dailies and monthly journals, and intra- and inter-company communications. His work has appeared in a number of publications, including the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, WallStreetJournal.com, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Crain's Detroit Business, Crain's Chicago Business, Real Estate Executive Magazine, California Real Estate Association Magazine, AirTran Magazine, and Utah CEO Magazine. MARK LIEBERMAN, economist for the Five Star Institute, parent company of DS News, lends his analysis and observations to the many financial and industry reports crossing the news desk. He is also managing director and senior editor for Economics Analytics Research. RICK SHARGA, EVP at Carrington Mortgage Holdings, LLC, has appeared on NBC Nightly News, CNN, CBS, ABC World News, CNBC, FOX, and NPR. He has briefed government organizations such as the Federal Reserve and Senate Banking Committee and corporations like JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, and Deutsche Bank on foreclosure trends. He's also led foreclosure training for leading real estate organizations such as RE/MAX, Prudential, and Keller Williams. Prior to joining Carrington, he spent eight years as an SVP at RealtyTrac, where he was responsible for marketing, business development, and data operations. SEAN O'TOOLE is founder and CEO of ForeclosureRadar, which tracks every foreclosure in its five-state coverage area of Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Prior to launching ForeclosureRadar, he successfully purchased and flipped more than 150 residential and commercial foreclosures. Leveraging 15 years in the software industry, he used technology to build his real estate investment track record. Widely recognized as a foreclosure expert, he's been quoted by the New York Times, Bloomberg, Mercury News, Los Angeles Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle and made appearances on 60 Minutes, CNBC, KCRA, and KRON. MIKE WILEMAN is president and CEO of Orion Financial Group, which specializes in mortgage assignments, lien releases, and document retrieval. He has over 25 years in the mortgage and mortgage-related industries. Prior to joining Orion Financial Group, he worked in the consumer finance industry with Barclays American/Financial, Commercial Credit Corporation, and Associates First Capital.
