Stellar credit and a pre-approved mortgage are two factors that can help homebuyers land their dream home. A January 2018 study by LendingTree used this criteria to rank the largest American cities on the basis of how competitive they were. LendingTree looked at 1.5 million purchase mortgage loan requests and then ranked each city based on the share of buyers shopping for a mortgage before identifying the house they want and the percentage of buyers who have prime credit above 680.
