LENDERS AND SERVICERS BERKADIA ADDS THREE DIRECTORS TO MORTGAGE BANKING TEAM New York-based Berkadia announced the addition of three new members to its mortgage banking team: Managing Directors Carolyn Whatley and Laura Beaton, as well as Senior Director George Spadier. GATEWAY MORTGAGE ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF BANKING OFFICER Gateway Mortgage Group, LLC, announced Joe Siegel as its Chief Banking Officer. In this role, Siegel is responsible for executive oversight of the company's commercial, consumer, and specialty lending activities in addition to retail banking services. Gateway Mortgage Group recently received approval from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to merge with Farmers Exchange Bank, based in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Before joining Gateway, Siegel was Managing Director of Corporate Finance at Everett Advisory Partners, LLC. He has worked in the banking industry for more than 35 years and has held senior leadership roles at BBVA North America and BBVA Compass, as well as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he performed within the syndicated finance, corporate lending, and wealth management arenas. Siegel's experience also extends to private banking and risk management. JENNIFER FOLK JOINS PLANET HOME LENDING Planet Home Lending has hired Jennifer Folk as SVP of National Operations and Operations Support. In this role, she is responsible for creating scalable operations to support the growth of the company's distributed retail sales channel. "Jennifer has the depth of experience and the ability to develop strategies to help us to continue our growth," said Suzy Lindblom, EVP of National Operations at Planet Home Lending. SERVICE PROVIDERS IEM HIRES FORMER HUD DEPUTY SECRETARY IEM—a tech-enabled global homeland security and disaster-management consulting firm based out of North Carolina— announced the addition of Pamela Hughes Patenaude as Senior Community Liaison, where she will serve as a senior adviser for the company's housing and disaster recovery projects. Patenaude is a housing executive and public policy expert with more than 35 years' experience serving in government and nonprofit management, including at the executive management level. Most recently, Patenaude served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she managed the day- to-day operations of the cabinet-level agency, including oversight of the Department's $52 billion budget and 7,000 employees nationwide. As IEM's Senior Community Liaison, Patenaude will provide housing policy and long- term disaster recovery expertise to help execute IEM's disaster recovery housing projects quickly and efficiently. TIM GILLIS JOINS SERVICELINK AS VP CAPITAL MARKET SALES ServiceLink, the Pittsburgh-based national provider of transaction services to the mortgage and finance industries, has appointed Tim Gillis as VP, Capital Market Sales. Gillis is a seasoned professional in the mortgage services and origination space, with more than 25 years of industry experience.
